MarketSW, returns to Waterfront Station in SW DC, now as a bi-monthly night arts market from 4-10pm Fridays of the month beginning on May 12, continuing alternate Fridays of the month through October 20, 2017.

Situated on the Lot at 4th and M Streets SW, MarketSW is now entering its third season in the commercial center of the Southwest neighborhood across from the Waterfront Metro Station (green line), Safeway, the popular restaurants Station 4 and ZBurger. There is plenty of public parking among major office buildings, apartments and the thriving Southwest neighborhood.  


The market attracts hundreds of weekly shoppers including families, young professionals and home-owning seniors from the surrounding community . The neighborhood is home to a wide selection of recreational, cultural, and park destinations, including the  main  campus  of  the  Smithsonian  Institution  along  the  National  Mall,  the municipal fish market, Blind Whino and Arena Stage.


Additional attractions coming include the Museum of the Bible, International Spy Museum, Wharf Hall, and a new library. The market features a diverse mix of art, crafts, handmade jewelry, accessories, bath/beauty, vintage and antique furniture, furnishings, as well as specialty food items other local products.  On stage, local sound system, record label and dj Grand Ancestor will curate and present a mix of live music and special guest vinyl-spinning djs. Additionally, a beer garden with a bar serving a variety of drinks, a cigar lounge, and select food truck will be part of the programming mix.

A jam-packed send off can be expected for the last night market of the season at this month's MarketSW 5 to 10 pm Friday, October 28, on "The Lot" at Waterfront Station, 4th & M Streets, SW.

Timber Pizza will serve up fresh pies from its mobile oven at its first night market appearance, joining Goodies Frozen Custard popular vintage food truck and The Capital Candy Jar which regularly creates giant S'mores on site. Additionally, the BBQ smoker of The Tender Rib, will join returning food truck Nom Nom Gourmet, a Southeast Asian specialist.

Also to be enjoyed at "The Lot" will be an enhanced outdoor bar again be presented by Sugar Rim Bar and set up along side, master cigar roller Arian Castaneda.
